Itinerary

DAY 01: ARRIVE IN AUCKLAND

On arrival in Auckland, 'The City of Sails', seat in coach passengers will be met by our local representative and privately transferred to your hotel. Self drive passengers will collect your rental car at the airport and drive to your hotel.

 

DAY 02: AUCKLAND - BAY OF ISLANDS (B)

Travel north over Auckland's Harbour Bridge and along the Hibiscus Coast. There is the opportunity to view mighty Kauri Trees enroute. The journey continues, travelling through Whangarei, Northland's only major city and port, before arriving in the beautiful Bay of Islands. This afternoon enjoy a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds to learn about New Zealand's historic treaty signed between the British Crown and the Maori Chieftains. Following this, take a 'Hole in the Rock and Cape Brett' cruise. If you wish, you may disembark from this cruise in Romantic Russell and take some time to explore this historic town, returning to Paihia by local ferry at your leisure (ferry ticket included).  

 

DAY 03: BAY OF ISLANDS (B)

Today is at your leisure to enjoy the Bay of Islands and Northland. You might like to book an optional Cape Reinga & 90 Mile Beach day tour or take time to explore historic Russell or Kerikeri. Optional activities not included in the tour price.     

 

DAY 04: BAY OF ISLANDS - AUCKLAND  (B)

Most of today is free until your coach departure (SIC passengers only) later this afternoon.  For self drive passengers, you may like to return to Auckland on the alternative west coast route through the Waipoua Forest and visit the might kauri trees. At leisure this morning to further explore this beautiful region. Later this afternoon return to Auckland. 

 

DAY 05: DEPARTURE (B)

Your arrangements conclude today with a departure transfer or the return of your rental car. SWV vacations hope you enjoyed your tour around New Zealand and look forward to organizing your next visit to New Zealand.

Accommodation is based on Run of House rooms unless otherwise stated. Seaview and lakeview rooms will incur a supplementary charge. If any of these properties are unavailable at the time of booking, similar accommodation will be provided and a surcharge may apply. SWV will endeavor to provide accommodation of a similar standard as requested, however as the choice of accommodation is limited in remote areas, we will use the best available options

 

Transport

Seat in Coad basis

With all seat in coach packages including a private meet and great on arrival,you will be transferred by private car to your hotel and not have to think about finding your way through the airport or driving directions after your long flight!

 

The remainder of your Seat in Coach holiday will be using a premier fleet of high quality, tourist coaches with driver/guides and commentary of most routes.  Majority coach services include hotel pickups and drop off's so you do not have to arrange any further transfers.

  • Dolphin Discoveries - Swim with the Dolphins Cruise (Departs: Paihia Wharf 8am and 12.30pm (October - April).Duration: 4 hours

  • Cruising the picturesque islands while searching for the dolphins

Tours depart daily at 12:30pm from the Viaduct Harbour in down-town Auckland city.All passengers are please asked to check in at Voyager Maritime Museum no later than 12:15pm prior to the tour departing. One of our friendly guides will then lead you on the short walk to board.
