Today you will learn all about Athens’ ancient and modern history on this half-day tour of the city. Take a trip alongside expert guides, who will knowledgeably let you in on all there is to know and more about this fascinating city, in which past and present constantly blend. Begin by spending some time at the breath-taking Panathenaic Stadium, a magnificent construction erected on the remains of an ancient stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896.

Then, as you continue, pass by the Royal Palace, the private residence of Greece’s Prime Minister. Keep a lookout for the Euzones, the Palace’s guards in their colourful uniforms! You will also be able to appreciate many incredible landmarks drenched in history, such as Hadrian’s Arch, the Greek Parliament in Syntagma Square and Athens’ memorial to the Unknown Soldier. Also discover the beauty of world-renowned modern institutions such as the University, the National Library and the Academy, named after the famous Academy founded by the philosopher Plato in the classical Greek era.

Last but not least, you will visit the Acropolis, an old plateau abundant with various symbols of ancient Greece, the most magnificent of which are the remains of the Parthenon.

Take a day cruise from Athens to the fabulous Greek islands of Hydra, Poros, and Aegina for a relaxing day on the sea. With all your transport, transfers and buffet lunch organized, (a delicious lunch and Greek folklore show aboard your ship are included), you can sit back and enjoy your leisurely day cruise with free time on each island to explore.

After transferring from Athens to the port by motor coach, you'll set sail for the island of Poros, where you'll have free time for strolling and shopping. Head ashore at the colorful capital and enjoy around two hours to look around on your own.

As you approach the island of Hydra to admire the colorful harbor and get tips from your guide on what to see and do on the island. You will have about 2 hours at leisure to enjoy the unique charms of Hydra island, whose amphitheater shape once served as a safe shelter for Saronic Pirates. Amble down the narrow lanes, relax over coffee, or buy souvenirs in the quaint shops.

From the decks, you will be able to admire the very special architecture and dramatic landscapes of this island, whose old traditional stone houses and mansions silently stand witness to a long and turbulent history.

Upon arrival in Egina (Aegina) a guided excursion to Aegina's ancient Temple of Aphaia is also available at your own expense or take a walk around the main town.

Follow in the footsteps of kings and make a pilgrimage to discover your destiny with this day trip to Delphi, An exciting journey to the old "navel" of the world.

Famed for the uncanny accuracy of the Sibyl, a fortune-telling priestess, Delphi’s fame grew and attracted travellers seeking their fortunes from all over the ancient world. From Athens we’ll cross the fertile plain of Boeotia to the slopes of Mount Parnassus to explore the ruins of Delphi and get a sense of the remarkable power this mystical site still exerts today.

Visit the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios, and learn the story of this brave god’s triumph over the dragon that guarded the omphalos. This mysterious ‘navel stone’ marked the very centre of the world and gave the Sibyl her powers by making her the voice of Apollo. Visit the marble Treasury of the Athenians, built to store the rich offerings of grateful kings. See the stadium where the ancient Pythian Games, precursors to our modern Olympics, were lost or won. Visit the temple of Apollo, where the eternal flame burned in the gloom. Then explore the on-site museums where you can see the omphalos stone itself as well as masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture such as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias.

Enjoy a delicious traditional local lunch in the modern village of Delphi before passing through the ancient town of Thebes, to discover the story of tragic King Oedipus, whose terrible fate was foreseen by the oracle. Before heading back, marvel at the fascinating mountainous landscapes and the beautiful cities of Livadeia and Arachova, where there will be a short break before returning to Athens.

The cruise starts from Vlychada port at 14:45 and sails along the coastline to reach its first stop at the Red Beach area where guests can swim and snorkel for 30 minutes. Next stop is the White Beach where the guests can enjoy swimming and snorkeling for 1 hour and 30 minutes while the BBQ menu is being prepared by the crew. Then the tour continues sailing below the Indian Rock, the ancient Lighthouse, Akrotiri and the Aspronisi island in order to reach the third stop, the Hot Springs, and the guests can also swim in this stop for 30 minutes. Reaching the end of the tour, sailing below the caldera towards Oia in order to watch the sunset just outside Ammoudi port below the Oia village. The tour ends in Ammoudi port.
